Amended: Extension of Candidate Filing Period for the Statewide General Election
When incumbents do not file for re-election the filing period is extended
SANTA ANA, CA -This amended press release provides updates to contests where there are extensions to the filing period. The Registrar of Voters announced today that the nomination period has been extended until August 15, 2018, 5:00 p.m. for the offices listed below because the incumbent failed to file Nomination Papers by the August 10, 2024 deadline.
Any qualified person, other than the incumbent, can now file the Nomination Papers until August 15, 2018, 5:00 p.m., in the office of the Registrar of Voters, 1300 South Grand Avenue, Building C, Santa Ana, California.
Business hours are: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Board of Supervisors Votes to Ensure Accountability and Transparency in Auditor-Controller’s Office

(June 26, 2024) – Today the Board of Supervisors voted as part of the approval of the FY 2018-19 budget to re-establish the Internal Audit Department, reporting directly to the Board of Supervisors, removed the Auditor-Controller and Internal Audit augmentations while also cutting $656,570 of funding from the Auditor-Controller’s base budget. ORANGE COUNTY DISTRICT ATTORNEY/ PUBLIC ADMINISTRATOR AND TREASURER RECOGNIZED BY NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF COUNTIES WITH 2018 ACHIEVEMENT AWARD FOR MEDALLION SIGNATURE GUARANTEE STAMP PROGRAM
SANTA ANA, Calif. – The Offices of the Orange County District Attorney/Public Administrator (OCDA/PA) and Treasurer-Tax Collector (Treasurer) will be recognized by the National Association of Counties (NACo) with a 2018 Achievement Award in the category of Financial Management for their participation in the Medallion Signature Guarantee Stamp Program.
The Achievement Award is given to a county that has furthered the services offered to its residents and improved the administration of the county. In order to receive the award, the program being recognized must have measureable results for the county and demonstrate innovation.
